Help: Advice Needed to deal with landscaper?

In september my wife and I had colored concrete edging installed around the entire yard, front and back. When we had it installed we informed the landscaper and said to him that if his people were not able to negotiate the tight spaces leave the area(inner back yard) alone. Next thing we know the worker scraped the edging 2 times in the same day and the only way to repair it is to replace an entire section which will be costly. The Landscaper, who is insured, is trying to mend it on the ';cheap'; saying he will reseal the exposed area, because replacing it will be costly. That solution is not to our satisfaction reason being we informed him and it was less than a month old. I equivalate this to If I bought a new car and someone scratched my fender. We wouldn't be satisfied with touch up paint , I would want the entire fender repainted. Thanks for your helpHelp: Advice Needed to deal with landscaper?
Do you have a record of statement of work in writing? Is there are any workmanship guarantee? Have you paid the entire bill? Is he a member of the BBB? If you can't resolve your complaint with him, contact BBB and file a complaint.

From a Landscapers perspective:

Due to the uniqueness of edging, he may not be able to replace one or two pieces. It sounds like a big job. Even if you do get him to agree to replace it, because it is a 'freebie' he will probably drag his feet. Unless there's major visible damage, your best bet for a quick resolution is to try and reach a middle ground. I find it hard to believe he can't offer you a better repair solution than touch-up sealing. Without a picture it's difficult to give you an accurate answer. Most reputable landscapers will go 110% to keep a good customer satisfied, often at their expense. (I offer my customers a guarantee). If he damaged it, he should fix it and you should be happy with the fix, though it may not be brand new.

Edit:

Get pictures of all damage. Get him to guarantee repairs to be completed by a certain date in writing. Make sure all details of replacement parts are listed on agreement. You want to have as much evidence as possible and keep after him for repairs. Best of luck.

Have you paid this guy yet for the work he's done for you? I hope not.

Withhold payment until he fixes it the way you want it fixed. You told him to not work in that area but he did anyway. So now he has to correct his mistake, and the work should be done to your satisfaction.

He's foolish to even argue with you about it.

I guess you won't be recommending his service to your friends, eh?
