I need help/advice on photography.?

I've been getting into photography for a year now, after taking so many pictures I've decided to be more of a journalistic photographer. I found a sight that lets you share your artistic talents, after viewing so many photos and comparing it to mine, mine is no where near as great as their's. Simply put, for those who know photography, I'd like you to look at some photos of mine and possibly hand me some feedback, tips, advice, ,examples, etc. Photography is a wonderful thing!

You are doing fine for a beginner. A couple that I liked are your brother under the streetlight and trumpet.

Obviously you need to take control of the technical aspect of your imagery. You had several that were over or under exposed, and quite a bit of Photoshop that wasn't helping on a few. More interesting subject matter wouldn't hurt. Signs hanging in the mall just aren't very compelling unless they are telling a story.

You mention that you're in a photography club, which is a great idea. You should be able to get more detailed feedback there. Keep learning the basics of the craft, both technical and artistic, and keep practicing. You will find your images will improve as your skill and knowledge grow. Best wishes.I need help/advice on photography.?
The quality of the photo's is excellent. great use of framing, lighting and exposure. Unfortunately most of the photos are just pictures of nothing, or nobody very nteresting or doing anything interesting. Start taking photos that might tell a story or cause the casual viewer to take a second look. If there's nothing around your area, try travelling to someplace interesting. Sometimes you can create interesting photos right in your local area as well. Find a model that looks interesting and have them create a story for the way they are dressed, or their activity. Find someone will to do something bizzare, unusual or strange. Be more creative. Think and plan everything before you take the picture. Good Luck
i'm getting into photography myself...and i think you have some wonderful photos up there...some great angles and interesting focal points...my only advice right now is to try photographing the not-so-pretty side of life, especially for journalism photography...i'm more into portraiture and nature photography, though...

and consider shelling out the 63 dollars and join fanartreview.com...real photographers, some with immense experience can review your work and offer much better tips than you can get on Y!A...it is a great site, my mother [also a photographer] uses it all of the time...the 63 dollars lets you post your work for two years...

good luck and i hope you conitinue taking pictures, you are a great photographer!
I would say stick to photographing people. you seem to have a better feel for that.

the other images look like things you saw in magazines or books.

that is not bad, but I dont think you quite know why those sort of images are made.

I know some photographers that have made a long study of certain famous photographers and can almost exactly duplicate the famous images. but it is easy to tell that they dont have the same feel for the subject as the original photographer.

That is why I say stick to images you have a good feeling about.
HI kid. Well, have you taken any art classes? That may be a good start. I see you are a beginner. Like most new kids you love the focal point in the middle. Thats okay. Here is the secret to photos.

Early mornings and late nights. When the light is just right take the pic. That's all you need to know. You've got the natural talent and the eye. other than that you'll be great.

I wish you much luck in the difficult world of photography. It's harder to land a good job in that field than to win an award for acting.
I'm a graphic designer/photgrapher. I'd say you need to work on photographing people a bit more and understand the human body...learn angles so you know how much of something you should get in a picture and how much you don't need in it...what should be blurry what shouldn't...know what you want the picture to look like before you take it so you have a level of what you want to achieve. I have a deviantart too!! http://spitinyoureye.deviantart.com/
well i took a look at your photography, and i really like it. i think its very pretty and unique. i think that you have a certain type of photography style that no ones else has. a tip is to actually get into photography for a profession. you would be very good at it.
They are great for a noobie.

But how my photos go is, ';I take pictures for who I am, not for those who want common.';

Be different, because trust me, you will get noticed.

try darkroom as well. =]
