Go to the body shop and get hemp body butter. my hubby has had excema since he was a kid and had tried all sorts like steroids and stuff. a friend of ours suggested the hemp and we've never looked back - its amazing. My child has excema and help or advice out there.Tried all creams known to man lol.?
The thing about excema is that for each person there's a particular type of cream that works. youve got to shop around untill you find the right thing or right combination that works for your kid.
try cod liver oil.My child has excema and help or advice out there.Tried all creams known to man lol.?
Stop dairy produce like cows milk %26amp; yoghurts %26amp; give substitutes like soya or goats milk %26amp; cheese
Something is triggering his/her eczema off %26amp; its likely to be cows milk or foods containing it
Dont overuse steroid creams as they thin down the skin
Eumovate cream is helpfull also putting a cold flannel on the area cools it down if it feels like it is burning and itching.
Ask your doctor for Eumovate cream for mild attacks, and Diprosalic (strong steroid) for severe attacks.
First thing you need to do is get a consultation with a Dermatologist to determine what kind of Eczema you have. There is no cure for eczema, just management.
Keep the skin moisturised at all times, ointments are better than cream, wear cotton, dont used fragranced washing products and use antihistamines to help stop the itching. Your Dermatologist may recommend UVA - light treatment as it can help in some cases. Ask to be tested for allergies as this can trigger flare ups.
My son has been battling the condition now for over 4 years and has had several hospital stays to control his flare ups. He uses 50/50 white soft paraffin/yellow soft paraffin emollient for moisturising and 3% Emulsifying wax in water, antihistamines. He is also on immunosuppressants since he is so bad, but hes now getting clearer. Be wary of steriod creams/ointments over a long period of time, as they can thin the skin, but short term use to control a bad flare up is ok.
Everyone with the condition reacts to different treatments, so dont depair, you will find something that helps you.
I had very bad childhood excema - including two trips to a specialist and overnights at a hospital, and a terrible school term where my whole hands became one big blister.
On a brighter note, I am an engineer now - with no excema at all (unless I get careless and cause it to flare up)
It can get depressing for both of you, so watch this angle too.
This is what I have found works -
Do not use soap when washing affected parts, use ';simple'; soap for washing after toilet use.
Use cold water for washing - or barely hand warm.
Baths and showers should be comfortably warm - but on the cool side untill things get better.
After washing, pat dry, and use good quality real vasaline.
Put cotton gloves over this to seal in the moisture in the skin- and at night if it helps. There are different types - so find some that work.
For excema in hair, coal tar soap worked for me.
Be VERY careful about steroid creams - betnovate, haelan, haelan-c, cortisones.
These may work dramatically, but also thin the skin - They didn't tell me that!
Use sparingly if at all. I also built up an alergy to them which was very painful when I needed them again.
Food and diet has a major effect. Milk, and wheat can be major triggers. Therefore avoid wheat for a week and note results, and use Alpro milk for a week likewise to test this.
Reduce your washing powder and softener use - Try Eco balls for washing bedlinnen, as these leave virtually no harmfull chemicals. Use cotton sheets.
Stress is a major factor too, so find something enjoyable to do regularly - like painting etc.
Good luck - there are better times ahead!
Other things have a impact to, stress, diet, washing powders and soap. Try looking at these because even if a cream work it will only stop it temporarily. Try and tackle the real cause
Hemp body cream is a total wonder cream although it can be expensive.
Depending on their age they might not like this idea but try gloves and use them in a similar way to baby scratch mitten things while they're in the house
Go see your doctor, he will prescribe cream for the most common types of exczema. If that doesn't help he'll be able to sort out a consultation with a Dermatologist.
i had it through all my childhood years, tried everything as well, the only thing that came CLOSE to working was betnivate cream, but as i get up, i grew out of it. im 20 years old now, and every once in a while get a small rash spot whereever sweat sits on my skin. let the effected area breath, dont scratch, and try to get lots of sunlight on that area. the vitiman D is great for it. im sure he or she will grow out of it as well.
try crisco
Eating oily fish four times a week has a very great beneficial effect with eczema. A good cream I use is Calendula cream for my dermatitis. Did wonders for my son's eczema too.
Try Aloe Vera Gel.
Buy an aloe vera plant. Split the leaves to release the ';gel';. Rub over skin. Great healing qualities for all skin conditions, Completely safe and a natural source. No side effects. Keep away from steroids!
