Hello, i'm 17 years old and i live with my mum and little sisters. My father died and left us with just enough things to keep alive.
Now i'm the man of the house but recently i feel like i'm slightly slack which isn't realy doing any good to improve my life. I have things to learn and do like; Fixing holes in the wall, fixing ceilings, learn to drive, mantain the household budget, school + assignments, cleaning up the house, fixing the roofings + gutters and cleaning them, and many more...
I want to do all of those things adequately without being slack but i just can't seem to stop procrastinating! I know that good planning will get things done with an outstanding result and i try to fight-off and eliminate my passive 'wants' but i never seem to even pick up the pen and right out a plan... =(
The worst of things have recently happend to me like my Mountain Bike was stolen two days ago and my internet bill went up to $400!!! =(
I feel like a stupid person... help me please?Help advice on living independently?
You are seventeen - a minor. Your father has died, and your grief process takes, on average, eight years to go through all of the levels of shock, sadness, and resolution. No one expects you to do all of this today. I'm sorry about your mountain bike being stolen - and the internet bill needs to be arranged into a payment schedule. It sounds like you are overwhelmed, with a huge list added to your life - whether written-down or not, the list is there in your quiet moments. Perhaps you need to view the picture with a mindset telling you that you are not stupid, just looking for a place to begin. Go ahead and give yourself permission to accomplish a certain amount each day - pick a productive time of day, and a plan 'B' second time should something come up. Allow yourself to be dedicated to that time, set a timer, and stop to finish during the next available time slot. Feel good about what you are doing, and be proud that you are helping your family - the way your father would want it for all of you. Have a healthy and happy leap year!Help advice on living independently?
You need to find a school near where you live where they can teach you basic life skills, call up a few and ask what sort of curriculum they have for someone in your situation. You do need guidance and advice, too much for you to do alone right now. Why did your Internet bill go up so high? Find another ISP.
