also our kitchen badly needs done up do you think this would put buyers off or do u think we should do it up and then sell it??I need advice on selling my house can you help?
bad timing mate!! i would def do the kitchen up its the 1st thing a women looks at when viewingI need advice on selling my house can you help?
It would probably be cheaper to put in a kitchen than it would be to discount for not having a satisfactory one.
Ask an estate agent for advice.
In your situation I would rent the house out. Get two or three letting agents round. The letting market is still ok, but you will lose out badly selling. With letting you will always have a place to return to if you so choose and a steady source of income. As time goes by plans change, always.
To sell a house quickly, the buyer needs 2 things, (1) The house needs to be spotlessly clean, and (2) the price needs to be right. If your need to travel is greater than your need for money, then you must sell at an attractive price, regardless of the state of the kitchin. If you do not want to decorate the place, and it is not in a reasonable state of decorative order, then you must expect any prospective buyer to take into account when making an offer, these extra costs. the more attractive your house is the more interest it will attract. Good luck.
Just sell and go!
I know i would.
Don't sell at the moment, prices are low. Instead, rent it out. Find a letting agent to take care of it. That way, when prices rise again (as they will) you'll get the benefit.
Bon voyage !
The better the appearance of your home the higher chance of selling it. Also, with you kitchen needing done this will prompt perspective buyer to offer you a lot less than your asking price, which is bad enough that they do it anyway, but needing work makes is easier to offer less than what you are asking for. Also, always use a Realtor to protect yourself
Whilst the market for selling houses sucks now, the rental market is strong, for much the same reasons. Why not rent it out instead of selling. Try speaking to an estate agent near you that acts as a rental agency.
Regardless, yes, do up the kitchen. It can be done relatively cheaply if you get whatever is on special offer at the stores. If you want a particular design then you gotta pay whatever they're asking. If the cabinets are basically sound then you can just replace the counter tops, and doors.
put it 4 cheap or fix da kitchen
fix up the kitchen first, and then get a real estate lawyer.
wait untill 2015, thats when they think the market will recover...........don't sell now, you wont get any money......you probably cant sell it anyway......the credit crunch is alot worse than some may think, and it has only just started
I live in the US, but we just bought our first home 1 year ago. The first place I would always go to to when looking at any home was the kitchen. Several other places we had looked at had horrible kitchens that I immediately turned around and walked out of because it would have cost us so much more to redo them that it wasn't worth going through the rest of the house. For most families the kitchen is the root of the home, it's where a lot of time is spent, so my advice to you would be to spend some money now fixing it up and you will definitely make so much more in the long run when you sell it. With the market being as it is, it will raise the value of your home. Hope I have helped you out.
Go to HGTV, a channel on Satellite Dish Network. They have several shows on selling, buying, flipping houses and remodeling. I know that sounds crazy, but you can contact them. Also try hgtv.com because they do have a website. Maybe they can use you and your house on one of their shows. If not interested in that, you would be best to contact a realator for sure. They can give you much better advice than anyone. Hope this helped you out.
Put it up on ebay and get what you can for it.
