I have a 4 year old Maltese and in the last 5 days she seems to have symptoms of a cold. Sneezing often ( wet sneezes too, not dry ). She also sounds chesty at times when she breathes and her eyes are teary. She has had all her shots for kennel cough etc. She doesn't play with neighbourhood dogs. She's only been around my other two dogs ( who have had their shots also for kennel cough etc ) and is basically a house dog unless she goes outside for a play or the toilet. She's not coughing, is still eating/drinking fine, her toilet habits are the same. She is still happy to play, but just not as much. It's like she gets tired quick and needs to rest. Does anyone have any home remedies i could use to help her get better. Can't get to the vet for another few days yet.
Any advice on how to take care of her ( apart from the obvious of keeping her warm, rested, drinking plenty fo water etc ), would be greatly appreciated.Help! Advice Needed for sneezing dog?
for 20 to 40 lb dog give one Benadryl tablet..every 12 hours ...it wont hurt your dog..if symptoms get better then you know it's allergies.. for smaller dog give 1/2 tablet every 12 hours..It's what We , and all my friends use for our dogs..we cover it in peanut butter and they eat it right up..good luckHelp! it sounds to me by the way your describing her symptoms, like she has allergies.. Have her checked at the doctors see what they say... Good Luck!
clear your home of allergens that may be affecting her and keep her calm and confortable.
take her to the vet dumb ***!
