Your credit history will not affect this process in any way so rest easy on that one. The processing time for the petition varies. Have a read of the K1 visa flowchart here http://www.familybasedimmigration.com/fo鈥?/a> The flowchart contains many links that will also help you understand this process. You can do this yourself, but you have to be prepared to do the research. The forums in the link I provided will assist you greatly as it is contains the most up-to-date immigration info that I have come across.
All the best to you.K1 requirments need help and advice?
There are TONS of websites for these visas. Check out K1visas.com and all the U.S. websites, or google K1 Visa and look through that.
You'd be best to fork up the money to get an immigration lawyer/attorney, the process can get complicated. The current processing time is about 2 months though.
Let me know how it goes, I'm checking into this process as well and I live in Texas too!
Your credit will not make a difference; you do need to be able to show that your fiance will not become a Public Charge (generally by showing that you have sufficient income or assets).
This process takes WAY MORE than 2 months, IIB. From petition to visa is more like 8 months at the moment, subject to change every day. :)
www.familybasedimmigration.com is a good, up to date site with all the official resources you need (and free).
